I want to start off with some background regarding my skin. It's important to figure out what type of skin you have in order to purchase the right products for your skin. If you don't know your skin type yet, read over this blog post I wrote about how you can determine what your skin type is!
I have normal to dry skin but it has been extremely dry after a tragic severe allergic reaction from a medication that I was taking that led to Steven Johnson’s syndrome which caused a painful rash and blisters that flooded throughout my entire body. Since then it’s been hard to find products that keep my skin moisturized and feeling good. I have been using the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizer for the last 10 years and it’s one of my top 5 products I will always repurchase. However, recently on the search for new skincare products I came across this line called Kiehl’s.
I’ve heard a good bit about this company and that it’s been reputable and true to its claims of revealing softer skin and intense hydration. My t-zone and mouth area had been extremely dry so I was on the hunt for something that would keep my face hydrated for a long time! This little kit I purchased from Ulta included the Midnight Recovery Concentrate oil, Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream and Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado. I’m going to break down why this product has been good for someone with normal to dry skin (and especially good for people with skin on the drier side like me!)
Midnight Recovery Concentrate
Although the Midnight Recovery Concentrate is typically used as an overnight serum, I like to use it during the day too! This concentrate is made with essential oils and distilled botanicals that replenish your skin throughout the night and you wake up with soft, rejuvenated skin. You can wear this before you apply makeup as well. The nutrients reach deep within the skin and smooth out like a primer, allowing your foundation to have a smooth base to work on and applied flawlessly. This also smells really good and makes me feel calm which is a bonus. I apply more of this on my t-zone and neck than any other area of my face because these are the areas I get dry the most. This concentrate really pulls deep into the dry parts of my skin and hydrates it, making it look replenished.
